Verifications

What is Verification?

Verification on the Socious Verify platform is a secure, blockchain-based process that confirms a person’s credentials — such as degrees, age, or memberships — are authentic and trustworthy. Using blockchain technology, Socious Verify creates a tamper-proof digital record of each credential, making it easy for individuals to prove their qualifications or identity when needed.

Blockchain acts as a secure, decentralized ledger, storing credential information in a way that can’t be altered. When you receive a credential (like a university degree or age verification), it’s recorded on the blockchain and linked to your Socious wallet. This ensures that your information is accurate and can be trusted without relying on a third party.

Use Cases

Hiring: Companies can request and verify candidates’ university degrees securely through a QR code, confirming qualifications without excessive paperwork.

Event Access: Organizers can verify attendees’ memberships or credentials to confirm eligibility seamlessly without physical tickets or extra identification checks.

Age Verification: Service providers like restaurants and bars can securely confirm customers are of legal drinking age through a QR code, ensuring compliance without exposing unnecessary personal details.

How It Works

  1. Credential Issuance: An official source creates a digital version of the credential and stores it on the blockchain, linked to your Socious wallet.
  2. Generating a QR Code: When you need to prove credentials, Socious Verify creates a QR code linking to verified information in your wallet.
  3. Verification by Stakeholders: When stakeholders scan your QR code, they can instantly verify credential authenticity on the blockchain.

Step-by-Step Process for Verification

  1. Go to the Verifications Page and click the Create button in the top-right corner.
  2. Choose between Reusable Verification or Single-Use Verification:
    • Reusable verification links allow multiple users to complete verification with the same link, suitable for general requirements like age verification for online purchases.
    • Single-use verification links are unique and can only be used once, ideal for verifying specific individuals like event attendees.
  3. Input the verification request’s name and description.
  4. Select the schema you have already defined on the Schemas page.
  5. Add an attribute defined within the schema by selecting the attribute name, value, and operation (for example, “Is greater than”).
  6. Click the Create button to find the verification on the Verifications page.
  7. Copy the link and send it to the stakeholder you want to verify.
  8. A QR code will be presented, and they will need to scan it through Socious Wallet to complete the final verification check.

Age Verification Tutorial

For age verifications above a certain age, ensure that credential requests follow these specifications:

  • Schema is equal to KYC
  • Attributes: Date Of Birth — Is Less Than — Date (using “Is Less Than” for checking ages above a certain age number)
